Millennium and Type Lite 4.50 Firmware Update

What Is It?

This is an update for Millennium and Type Lite users. It contains a number of exciting enhancements and improvements. Currently this is an English language only update. What Does It Cost?

This is a free update to Millennium and Type Lite owners who are already running firmware version 4.1. Older firmware versions will need to be updated to 4.1 prior to running this update.

How Can I Tell What Version I Am Currently Running?

From an open file, go into the status menu by pressing DOTS 3-4 CHORD or F10 on the type lite. Press the letter R. The unit will speak and/or display the firmware revision currently running. If you need to purchase the 4.1 update contact our sales department at 1-800-444-4443.

You may also call our sales department and request the 4.5 update on 3.5-inch disk at a cost of $10 (US).

What Are The Update Steps?

This update program will function only if you already have firmware revision 4.1 installed in your unit. If you are using an older firmware version, the update will fail to complete.

Downloading the appropriate update file for your notetaker to your PC and execute the program. Then load the extracted update file onto your notetaker. Once downloaded, please access the Update text file, which will instruct you how to properly install the files. We recommend that you review all of the text document files prior to installing your files. The filenames of the update files differ slightly for this revision. The correct files will be: M20ENU-U.bns, M40ENU-U.BNS and TLTENU-U.BNS for the M20, M40 and Type Lite respectively. These will be the update programs that you will use to update your notetaker.

Note: You must run this update from bank A. However, we encourage you to update both banks with revision 4.5. If you wish to keep a copy of revision 4.1, retain it only in bank B.
